這一路走來，Twinkl 對我而言，不只是教材平台，

更像是一位長期陪伴在我身邊的教學夥伴。 

使用 Twinkl 多年以來， 我一直選擇它作為線上教學的主要教材 💻✨ 

在接觸 Twinkl 之前，我嘗試過許多線上資源，加入會員後還得逐一付費下載教材，不僅麻煩，內容也不一定齊全。  

而 Twinkl 不一樣：

1. Teaching Journey 教學旅程

Q: Tell us a bit about your teaching journey — 

how did you get started and what’s it like teaching in Taiwan? 

請先跟我們分享一下您的教學旅程吧！

您是怎麼開始成為老師的？在台灣教學有什麼特別的挑戰或收穫？ 

A: From the very beginning, after I returned from a working holiday in Australia, I started teaching English. 

I first worked as a teaching assistant, then gradually took on theme-based classes, organized teaching events, 

and even trained students for Sing and Dance competitions. 

Especially during those fun English events and competitions, my students won awards, 

and I realized that teaching could be much more meaningful than just following textbooks.      

Later, after working as an international flight attendant in the Middle East,  I decided to return fully to education with a global perspective. Teaching in Taiwan is both rewarding and challenging—many students are used to traditional methods like memorizing vocabulary and tests. 

My mission has been to show them that English can be fun, creative, and connected to their real lives and interests. 

After all, in my own learning journey, my English improved not through textbooks but through real conversations and experiences using the language around the world. That’s why now, as I build my personal brand and design my courses, I focus on using native ESL resources, current-event-based materials, and plenty of listening and speaking practice.  I want to recreate the kind of immersive experience I had abroad— so that learning with me feels like Dory is taking you on a journey around the English-speaking world.         

我最一開始的教學旅程，是在澳洲打工度假回台灣後才開始的。 

我先擔任助教，之後慢慢帶主題課程、舉辦活動，甚至訓練學生參加英文歌唱和舞蹈比賽。 

特別是在那些有趣的英文活動與比賽中，學生得獎的時刻讓我覺得比單純教課本更有意義。  

後來我到中東擔任國際空服員，累積了全球視野，再回到教育領域。 在台灣教書既有挑戰也有收穫：很多學生習慣死背單字、應付考試。

我希望改變這種心態，讓孩子體驗到英文的樂趣、創意，以及和生活的連結。 

畢竟，就像我自己英文快速進步時，靠的並不是課本，而是真實的對話與在世界各地運用的經驗。   

也因此，現在我建立了自己的個人品牌並設計課程，重點放在使用英文母語教材、ESL 教材、以及能夠結合時事的大量聽說練習。  

我希望營造出一種沉浸式的學習氛圍，讓學生就像跟著 Dory 一起環遊英文世界般快樂學習。

2. Twinkl Resources in Practice 實際應用

Q: How do Twinkl resources support you in the classroom or at home?  Twinkl 的資源如何在課堂或居家備課上幫助到您？ 

A: Twinkl saves me a lot of preparation time and gives me creative ideas. 

For example, I use Rhino Readers storybooks to build phonics foundations in my children’s classes, and the worksheets help extend reading into speaking and writing practice. 

For adult learners, Twinkl’s ready-made resources make it easy to adapt to practical English lessons. 

Since I am an online English tutor, it’s not ideal for me to rely on scanned worksheets— 

the quality isn’t always good and there are copyright issues. 

Some platforms also require you to purchase individual resources separately, which makes the available materials limited and often incomplete. With Twinkl, I don’t have to worry about that because the resources are professionally made for online use. The eBook function is especially helpful, and students can even continue learning at home with the Twinkl app. Another important point is the professional quality—Rhino Readers are developed in the UK or Australia, unlike some local Taiwanese publishers’ “EFL-style English,” which often contain grammar mistakes, unnatural pronunciation in the audio, or audio speed that’s too slow.  

Twinkl 幫我省下很多備課時間，也提供了很多創意靈感。

例如，我在兒童課程中使用 Rhino Readers 系列， 幫助建立自然發音基礎，搭配的工作紙可以延伸到口說與寫作練習；

成人課程則可以靈活改編現成資源。  因為我是線上英文家教，所以如果自己掃描教材，品質不佳又會有版權疑慮。 

有些平台則必須以「單份教材購買」的方式，每一次要用的教材都要分開購買，導致資源有限、缺乏完整度。   

但使用 Twinkl 就完全沒有這些問題，因為它本身就是專業的線上教材。 

特別是電子書功能，加上學生能透過Twinkl 的 app 課後延伸學習，效果更好。  再加上教材的專業度，例如 Rhino Readers 是由英國或澳洲編制的，不像台灣出版社的「台式英文」，  常常有文法錯誤、音檔不標準或語速過慢等問題。

3. Favorite Twinkl Resource 最愛資源

Q: Do you have a favourite Twinkl resource or product that you always come back to? 有沒有一份您特別喜歡、經常會回頭使用的 Twinkl 資源或產品？

A: Definitely the Rhino Readers phonics storybooks!  

 They are well-structured, leveled, and perfect for young learners in Taiwan who need systematic exposure to phonics.  

I also love Twinkl’s interactive games on Twinkl Go— they bring a lot of energy into online classes. 

What makes Rhino Readers truly special is that, unlike the standard EFL approach in Taiwan which teaches phonics strictly from A to Z, 

Twinkl Phonics x Rhino Readers follows the UK/Australia phonics progression. 

It starts with the most frequently used sounds (like satpin), so students can quickly begin blending sounds to read words. 

This approach supports effective language learning in the natural order of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

我最喜歡的資源絕對是 Rhino Readers 系列！它們結構清楚、分級完整，非常適合需要系統性學習自然發音的台灣學生。

我也很喜歡 Twinkl Go 的互動遊戲，能夠為線上課程帶來活力。 而 Rhino Readers 的特別之處在於，

它不像台灣常見的 EFL 制式教法從 A 到 Z 開始，而是依照英美的自然發音分級系統，

先學最常用的發音（如 satpin），學生很快就能開始拼讀單字，實現聽說讀寫的自然學習順序。

4. Tips for New Users 建議給新老師

Q: What’s one tip you’d share with other educators in Taiwan who are new to Twinkl? 

如果有台灣的老師剛開始接觸 Twinkl，您會給他們什麼小建議？ 

A: Start small. Choose one storybook or one worksheet set and try it with your students. 

You’ll see how adaptable Twinkl is, and soon you’ll find ways to personalize it for your teaching style. Don’t feel like you need to use everything at once. 

For example, you can start with seasonal or holiday themes. Simply type a keyword like “Christmas” into the search bar, 

and you’ll instantly find age-appropriate resources such as presentations, worksheets, flashcards, crafts, and even posters and bookmarks.

建議從小地方開始。挑一本故事書或一組學習單，先試著帶進課堂。

你會發現 Twinkl 的彈性很大，很快就能依照自己的風格做出調整，不需要一次用太多。 

 例如，可以先嘗試節慶主題。只要搜尋「聖誕節」關鍵字，就能立刻找到適合不同年齡的教材，

包括簡報、學習單、字卡、手作，甚至海報和書籤！  

5. Quick Fire Round 快問快答💕

Q: Tea or coffee? 咖啡還是茶？ A: Coffee in the morning and green tea in the afternoon.

 (I don’t choose, I take it all. Lol!) 早上咖啡，下午綠茶。（我都要啦哈哈！）

Q: What’s your go-to karaoke song? 您的必唱 KTV 金曲是？ 

A: I would say…  My Heart Will Go On from Celine Dion and Hero by Mariah Carey. (Omg, I’m old hahaha!) 

 應該是席琳狄翁My Heart Will Go On 的跟瑪麗亞凱莉的Hero。 （天啊，這是不是暴露年齡了哈哈！）

Q: Lesson planning or decorating the classroom? 您比較喜歡備課還是佈置教室？ 

A: BOTH! I know now I’m an online tutor, so technically I don’t need classroom décor. 

But since I don’t use virtual backgrounds, and I’m always filming videos or uploading to social media, 

I still like to decorate my teaching space. It makes my classes feel more lively and personal. 

兩個都喜歡！雖然我現在是線上老師，好像不太需要教室佈置，但我不喜歡用虛擬背景，而且經常要拍影片或上傳社群，

所以還是會佈置一下教學空間，讓課程更有氛圍、更有個人特色。

Q: You’re stranded on a desert island – what’s one book, song, or item you’d bring? 

(No Wi-Fi allowed… unless it comes with Twinkl 😆) 如果被困在荒島（不能用 Wi-Fi… 除非島上有 Twinkl 😆），

您最想帶的一本書、一首歌或一樣物品是什麼？ 

A: For the book, I’d bring Think Like a Monk by Jay Shetty. It’s perfect for a “stuck on an island” situation— 

I’d literally need to think like a monk to survive there. For the song, I’d probably just sing the ones I already know to cheer myself up…  

or sing to my new animal friends, haha.  As for an item, I’d bring my sketchbook and a set of colored pencils.  

Since I love drawing and I’m now learning to create picture books, it’d be the perfect chance to make one called “Dory Needs Help!” hahaha. I’d probably even slip the book into an empty bottle, toss it into the ocean, and hope someone comes to rescue me!   

對於書籍，我會帶 Jay Shetty 的 Think Like a Monk。 因為在荒島上，真的需要「像和尚一樣思考」才能活下去。   

歌曲的話，我會唱自己會唱的歌來安慰自己……或是唱給動物朋友聽，哈哈。   物品方面，我一定會帶素描本和色鉛筆。 

因為我喜歡畫畫，現在也正在學習創作繪本，這會是絕佳的機會， 讓我創作一本叫：Dory Needs Help! 的繪本！  

說不定我還會把它放進空瓶子裡，丟進大海，看看會不會有人來救我！

Q: What’s the best teaching advice you’ve ever received? 您曾經收到過最棒的教學建議是什麼？ 

A: I can’t remember a single piece of advice word-for-word, 

but I really like this quote from Benjamin Franklin: 

“Tell me and I forget, 

  teach me and I may remember, 

   involve me and I learn.” 

It reminds me that the most powerful learning happens when students are truly engaged. 

雖然我一時想不起具體誰給過我什麼話，

但我很喜歡班傑明‧富蘭克林的一句名言：

「告訴我，我會忘記；教給我，我可能會記得；讓我參與，我才真正學會。」

這提醒我，最有力量的學習發生在學生真正參與其中的時候。
